Sage workspace update
Upcoming changes to three Sage features
Hello Sage admin,
Halden is consolidating Sage onto its sandboxed workspace architecture. As part of this change, three features in their current form will be gradually retired by Friday, December 11, 2026. Here’s what’s changing, what replaces each feature, and the one action needed for your workspace.
Canvases
Retires Friday, December 11, 2026
Existing canvases will migrate automatically to sandboxed Canvases; the migration itself needs no action. To keep creating and using canvases, sandboxed execution and file creation must be enabled.
About sandboxed execution

Tones
Retires Friday, November 20, 2026
Custom tones are migrating to Playbooks; the migration itself needs no action. Sandboxed execution and file creation must be enabled to use custom tones as playbooks. The Tutor tone will also become a playbook.
Alternatively, tones can be converted to instructions. For organization-wide effect, those instructions can be set as organization instructions.

Project file search
Changes Friday, October 30, 2026
We’re improving how Sage searches and uses files in Projects. The improved project file search replaces the current experience. From this date, project file search requires sandboxed execution and file creation to be enabled.

One action for your workspace
Turn on sandboxed execution and file creation to keep using the replacement features. The first change takes effect Friday, October 30, 2026.

Admin controls remain in place
Every replacement runs on sandboxed execution, with admin controls in place for your organization:
Network access settings. Egress is configured at the organization level as on, limited, or off to match your security posture. Network access details.
Pre-approved network domains. When egress is set to limited, traffic is restricted to a vetted allowlist. Current network allowlist.
