Three Sage features are being retired

Hello Sage admin,

Three features will be gradually retired from Sage by Friday, December 11, 2026 as Halden consolidates onto its sandboxed workspace architecture. Here is what is changing, what replaces it, and what you will need to do.

Canvases

Calendar Retires Friday, December 11, 2026

Existing canvases migrate automatically to sandboxed Canvases. No action is needed for the migration itself. Enable sandboxed execution and file creation to keep creating and using canvases.

Tones

Calendar Retires Friday, November 20, 2026

Custom tones are migrating to Playbooks. No action is needed for the migration itself. Enable sandboxed execution and file creation to use your custom tones as playbooks. Alternatively, convert your tones to instructions and, for org-wide effect, set them as organization instructions. The Tutor tone becomes a playbook as well.

Project file search

Calendar Changes Friday, October 30, 2026

Halden is improving the way Sage searches and uses files in Projects. From that date, project file search requires sandboxed execution and file creation to be enabled.

Enable with confidence

Every replacement above runs on sandboxed execution. Halden has kept investing in admin controls so you can turn on sandboxed execution and file creation knowing governance is in place:

  • Network access settings. Configure egress at the organization level, as on, limited, or off, to match your security posture.
  • Pre-approved network domains. When egress is set to limited, traffic is restricted to a vetted allowlist. See the current list.
